Find the Perfect Summer Camp for Your Child in Onslow County

Onslow County is home to a number of enjoyable and educational summer camps for children and teens. Although it may feel like summer is still far away, now is the time to start determining what summer camps are right for your child—and don’t forget to register soon to make sure your child has a spot! 

Jacksonville Parks & Rec: Kidz Dayz Out 

Through the City of Jacksonville, Kidz Dayz Out provides programming during teacher workdays and holidays. Open to kids between the ages of 6–12, each day includes snack time, group activities, arts and crafts, lunchtime, cultural activities, and more. All you’ll need to provide is a lunch and two snacks of your choice for your child each day.

Dates: Wednesday-Friday, June 8-10, 2022, 7:30am–6pm 

Cost: $10 Resident, $15 Non-Resident per child, per day.

Zing Zumm Summer Camp 

Located at the Zing Zumm Children’s Museum of Jacksonville, enjoy three separate summer camp sessions that will include a wide range of fun activities to stimulate your child’s growing mind. Zing Zumm has not yet opened registration for summer camps yet—to snag a spot when registration opens, sign up for their e-list here.

Dates: June 20–24; July 18–22; August 15–19

YMCA Summer Day Camp 

The YMCA Summer Day Camp is open to members and non-members of the Y. Summer day camps provide a fun, productive, safe, and affordable way for your children to enjoy the summer months. Activities include arts and crafts and trips to various recreation, cultural, and educational venues. The YMCA offers a wide variety of programs to meet your needs and is available to rising kindergarten youth to rising 6th graders.

Dates: June 13–August 19 

Locations: South West, Dixon, and Queens Creek Elementary Schools

Hours: 6am til 6pm

Cost: Weekly $110 first child, $100 second child.

Camp Sturgeon Summer Camp 

Sturgeon City offers a series of weekly summer camps with multiple age groups and themes—from Beloved Bugs to Under the Sea! If your child is interested in building science skills and learning more about the environment, this is the perfect camp. 

Dates: Varies 

Cost: $125/week or $30/day

Brigade Boys & Girls Club

The Brigade Boys & Girls Club is hosting several summer camps in Onslow County. These camps help promote character and leadership skills and encourage your child to connect with their peers. This summer camp is for rising 1st graders through 8th graders. Free snacks are provided each day but campers must bring their own lunch. Field trips will also be available at an additional cost. 

Dates: Session 1: June 13–July 15, Monday through Friday, 7am to 6pm 

Session 2: July 18–August 19, Monday through Friday, 7am to 6pm 

Cost: $200 per session

Onslow County Parks and Recreation 

The Onslow County Parks and Rec department hosts a wide variety of summer day camps. Although most of the camps are now filled, families can join the waitlist to see if spots become available.
